amazon web services - Is AWS really any good for production or integration environments? -

i have limited (read next none) experience aws. know of few instances has moved aws flexibility:

  • moved busy forum dedicated server aws
  • created instance integration server

in both cases, aws did not work. both sites slow point deemed unusable.

i'm trying work out if aws bad (and whether should bother it) or simple case developers setup aforementioned instances didn't know doing , configured correctly?

i'm looking setup own integration server , i'm trying decide between aws instance or regular vps else.

here's short list of companies host operations on aws. novel thing in 2008 it's incredibly common now. "it didn't work us" comments companies don't understand how "devops" or think can more less money.
