Is it possible to use a referred used (from referral) for ldap authentication? -


i have setup 4 ldap servers, , i'd use same credentials authenticate , administrate of them.

what had in mind use 1 of servers host credentials, , setup referral in other servers server hosting credentials.

i've done tests , didn't managed authenticate on 1 of servers using "referred" credentials. believe normal i'd sure didn't miss anything.

lastly, if referral not work, syncrepl candidate achieve i'm trying ?

when application receives ldap referral , follows it, opens new connection needs authenticated. in other words, if need authenticate against directories, need have credentials in directories. replication way make sure data identical on directories.
