need solution restrict taxonomy terms visible on faceted filters. displays parent , child terms associated product. there way control child terms displayed , hide parent term. refer: http://screencast.com/t/ozehe1eih

i used configure facet filter didn't cause

you can use https://www.drupal.org/project/facetapi_bonus module , exclude specific items facet.

you can going facets , select configure filter , type terms want excluded(comma separated list)
